About Us: The Maltby and District Amateur Radio Society (MADARS) has a fascinating history. Although it originally existed for many years, it was reformed in August 2023 after a period of closure that began in 2019. We're like a phoenix rising from the radio waves.
Our society revolves around our passionate members, who are truly at the heart of everything we do. Here are our key aims:
1. Sharing Information: We're all about spreading the word on radio activities in and around South Yorkshire. Whether its discussing the latest tech, antenna design or DXpeditions, we've got you covered.
2. Promoting Amateur Radio: We're on a mission to increase awareness of amateur radio as a hobby. If you've ever been curious about those mysterious call signs and Morse code, we're here to demystify it all Plus we are encouraging folks to jump in and participate!
3. Support and Community: Need advice? Want to troubleshoot an antenna issue? Looking for camaraderie with fellow radio enthusiasts? We've got your back. Our community is warm' welcoming, and always ready to share knowledge.
